O&O BlueCon
with flatrate backup images
Berlin, 20. November 2007 -
O&O Software of Berlin, Germany has today released the new version 7 of
O&O BlueCon. For the first time, a new form of
licensing allows for backups to be created and restored for a limitless number
of computers. This saves both administrators and service technicians the
time-consuming task of counting computers and licenses, as well as obtaining
new ones when several additional computers need to be installed. O&O BlueCon 7 also offers native support for Windows Vista and
contains a whole myriad of tools for rescuing data and systems, all deployed
over the tried and trusted Windows interface.
O&O BlueCon
is considered the standard commercial tool for rescuing computer systems. Based
on the current Windows PE operating system for Vista,
it provides a wide range of programs designed to recover systems that will no
longer start up. Amongst many other functions, entries in the registry database
as well as user accounts can be changed or newly created with ease. O&O BlueCon starts all programs direct from the CD, which is
included with delivery. This prevents a further data loss when new data is
written to the computer, which can occur during a new installation, for
example.
The seamless integration of all the
components contained in O&O BlueCon saves the
user having to package numerous different programs together, some of which will
often only run with the help of patches anyway. Similarly, there is no danger
of dubious licensing structures through the use of commercial software on
Windows PE, as all system tools were developed safely by O&O Software. A
notable highlight is the integrated O&O DriverLoader,
which automatically detects all system components and loads the appropriate
Deployment onto computers with
O&O DiskImage Server Edition
O&O BlueCon
is available in two versions: the Admin Edition is licensed per administrator
and can be used on an unlimited number of machines within a company. The Tech
Edition is not bound solely to a company, but can also be used in other
companies as part of a service. Also included in the Tech Edition is
unrestricted use of the latest version of O&O DiskImage
Server Edition, enabling the license holder to make any number of system
backups and then later restore them. This is particularly economical and
practical for rolling out computers with standardized images, as there are no
hidden or extra license costs. The O&O DiskImage
2 Server Edition included here can be deployed on both desktop and server
systems
Data recovery
with the O&O RescueBox
The newest
version of the O&O RescueBox is also included in
the latest version 7 of O&O BlueCon. The three
programs O&O DiskRecovery, O&O FormatRecovery and O&O UnErase
provide for quick and reliable data rescue when a system is hit by a virus
attack or software defect. Crucial business documents can be rescued without
having to start, which could potentially be infected.
Secure deletion
of data
Also included in
delivery is O&O SafeErase 3 for the secure
deletion of data. Files, partitions or even entire computers can be deleted so
securely that a further recovery is rendered impossible. A data volume deleted
using O&O SafeErase can be disposed of or passed
on with no risk involved.
